NWND Fund for Girls


The Minot Area Community Foundation is proud to administer a grant opportunity through the NWND Fund for Girls. The fund was originally established to support girls in the region and will now be distributed through an annual open grant round to broaden its impact. This fund is dedicated to supporting programs that help girls build character, confidence, leadership, life skills, and strong values. 
 
Eligible programs must:
  • Serve girls or young women in one or more of the following counties: Bottineau, Burke, Divide, McHenry, McKenzie, McLean, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, Rolette, Sheridan, Ward, Wells, and Williams
  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, government entity, religious organization, or other qualified charitable entity; or work in partnership with a qualified fiscal sponsor who will administer the funds on your behalf. 
  • Align with the fund's mission to empower the next generation of strong, capable young women
2026 Application Period: 
August 1-September 4, 2026

Grant Award Notification:
Grant applications will be reviewed after the application deadline, and applicants will be notified of award decisions in October 2026.

MACF Awards $42,230 Through First Annual NWND Fund for Girls Grant Round

 

Fall 2025 marked the first annual NWND Fund for Girls Grant round, and grants totaling $42,230 were awarded to the following organizations:
  • Bio Girls, for 2026 programming in Stanley & Mountrail County
  • Central Middle School, for the CMS Book Club for Girls
  • Companions for Children, for the StrongHER pilot program
  • Full Steam Ahead, for Girls STEAM Programming
  • Local Motives, for Girls Take the Stage: A Citizens Alley Summer Concert in 2026
  • Minot Park District, for the empowHER program
  • Sunnyside Elementary School, for the Sunnyside Girl Power program
  • Tribal Nations Research Group, for the Strong Hearts, Strong Leaders: Women's Leadership Program
