MACF supports Burlington Splash Pad

The Minot Area Community Foundation is pleased to announce a $100,000 grant to the Burlington Rec Commission from The Mike & Dorothy Dolan Fund.

The Burlington Rec Commission, in conjunction with Burlington Economic Development and City Leaders, devised a plan called The Riverfront Project to help rebuild the community after the flood of 2011. Included in this Project plan is a Splash Pad, that showcases 14 different water features including a huge water tower, water gun, and ladybug.

The Minot Area Community Foundation (MACF) approved a $100,000 grant to The Burlington Rec Commission for the Splash Pad. "The Foundation not only supports organizations within Minot, but also our surrounding areas and this is a great example of that," says Ken Kitzman, President, MACF. "The residents of Burlington have worked hard to restore their community post flood and we are proud to be a partner."

"This has been a huge joint effort between the City of Burlington, The De Sour Economic Development Corp and the Burlington Recreation Commission. Our community is so thankful of this generous donation from the MACF to our Splash Pad and has created a positive addition to our community" stated Jeanine Kabanuk, Park Member.

The Burlington community has over 1,200 residents. City Leaders are confident the Splash Pad, as well as future projects, will bring togetherness and improve the quality of life for many surrounding areas.
