South Hill Softball Complex Grant
South Hill Softball Complex Grant

Aug 18 2021
The Minot Area Community Foundation (MACF) is excited to announce a grant awarded to Minot Parks and Minot Girls Fastpitch in the amount of $100,000 for the construction of a new concession stand, restrooms, locker rooms and press boxes at the South Hill Softball Complex in Minot.
Minot Girls Fastpitch was created in 2014 with a mission to provide the opportunity for girls, ages 6-18, in Minot and the surrounding communities to learn and enjoy the game of fastpitch softball. The proposed project at the South Hill Complex will replace restrooms and concessions that were installed in the 1970s and will house all amenities in one building. There will also be protective netting installed overhead to provide needed safety for spectators.
“Minot Girls Fastpitch would like to thank the Minot Area Community Foundation, The Mike and Dorothy Dolan Fund and The Bremer Impact Fund. This incredible donation will help to complete the upgrades and modernization of the facilities at Minot’s South Hill Complex,” says Thor Nelson, President of Minot Girls Fastpitch. “This facility is utilized by multiple programs and hundreds of people from Minot and the surrounding communities. The upgrades will enhance the enjoyment of all programs calling the South Hill Complex home.”
The $100,000 grant from The Minot Area Community Foundation is made possible by The Mike & Dorothy Dolan Fund and The Bremer Impact Fund with $50,000 coming from each fund.
“We are pleased to partner with Minot Parks and Minot Girls Fastpitch on this project,” says Jason Zimmerman, President MACF. “The upgrades to the facilities are long overdue and will continue to build on previous work that has been done to make this a premier girl’s and women’s fastpitch softball complex in the state. This is a facility that Minot Girls Fastpitch can be proud of and will attract regional and state tournaments for years to come benefitting the whole community.”
Representatives from the Minot Area Community Foundation, Minot Parks and Minot Girls Fastpitch gathered at the South Hill Complex for a celebration of the award on Wed, Aug. 18th.
