Minot Area Community Foundation's Power of the Purse Giving Circle Grants $31,000 Back to Community Organizations

The Minot Area Community Foundation’s Power of the Purse Giving Circle held their annual grant meeting in December and granted a total of $31,000 back into the Minot community.

Organizations receiving funds were Souris Valley United Way (SVUW), Full STEAM Ahead, Trinity Health Foundation, MSU Development Foundation – ASTEP, Northern Plains Children’s Advocacy Center (NPCAC), Hello Sunshine Ice Cream & Books, and Minot Public Schools - Jim Hill Middle School.

“The last few years, our group has been extremely passionate about supporting programs that provide food, clothing, and basic essentials to the youth in our community,” says Chelsea Kirkhammer, Power of the Purse President. “It’s exciting for all of us to see these programs continue to grow and we are eager to support them on their journey.”

Programs that will benefit from these grant funds include Backpack Buddies, Girls Who Code Club, NICU parent room in the new Trinity Hospital, transportation for ASTEP program at MSU, a group therapy room at NPCAC, books and supplies for Hello Sunshine, and Christmas gifts for underserved youth at Jim Hill Middle School.

Power of the Purse members gathered at NPCAC to present a ceremonial check to all grant recipients.
