The Minot Area Community Foundation (MACF) has granted $3,000 from the Arnold I. Besserud Fund to Community Action Partnership – Minot Region for their emergency food pantry.

The grant funding will be used to purchase much needed items for the emergency food pantry.  The food pantry is available when other area pantries are closed, and provides donated foods, paper products, and cleaning supplies to individuals and families on an emergency basis.

“We are extremely grateful to the MACF and the Arnold I. Besserud Fund for supporting our emergency food pantry” states Willy Soderholm, Community Action Executive Director. “It comes at a crucial time where we are seeing an increase of families in need of basic food and household supplies.”

Community Action Partnership – Minot Region is one of seven Community Action Agencies operating in ND. These agencies focus on the needs in their communities by developing programs and providing services to assist low income and disadvantaged households to address unmet needs.

“The primary intent of Mr. Besserud’s gift was to grant resources to those agencies on the front lines providing humanitarian services to those in need.  We are proud to support all our non-profit partners who furnish these essential services, in so doing, we honor the wishes and legacy of Mr. Besserud,” commented Jason Zimmerman, President of the Minot Area Community Foundation.
