Minot Area Community Foundation is proud to facilitate a number of scholarship opportunities each year for area youth. Scholarships are awarded to area high school seniors with the purpose of facilitating their enrollment in a specific educational institution or pursuing a particular field of study.
Scholarship funds facilitated by the Minot Area Community Foundation awarded over $113,000 to area high school seniors in 2025, and over $1,000,000 since inception.
NORTH DAKOTA STATE FAIR | CHEVRON 4-H CLUB & FFA CHAPTER GRANTS | The North Dakota State Fair, in conjunction with the Minot Area Community Foundation and Chevron, is pleased to support 4-H clubs and FFA chapters across the state with grant opportunities. Each year, (20) $500 grants are awarded to empower clubs and chapters to pursue impactful projects within their communities or participate in the North Dakota State Fair.
ROTARY CLUB OF MINOT SCHOLARSHIPS | The Rotary Scholarship Foundation Fund was established by the Rotary Club of Minot in 1984. The goal of the fund is to provide scholarships to area youth through a permanent endowment fund held at the Minot Area Community Foundation. Since its inception, the scholarship fund has awarded 882 scholarships totaling $825,000. Students earning scholarships are chosen by members of the Rotary Club of Minot who independently review and score every application. Criteria for these awards are based on local geographic business area, participation in school activities, involvement in community and charitable organizations, employment history, and academic achievements.
PRAIRIE GRIT ADAPTIVE SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS | Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports Scholarship Fund was established to ensure professional and personal development for continuous growth, advancement, and success for individuals involved with Prairie Grit Adaptive Sport’s mission. The scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving individual attending or soon to be attending a college, university or vocational-technical school. Applicants for the Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports Scholarship must be an adaptive GPAS participant, volunteer, or staff member who is a graduating high school senior or is already enrolled in or attending an establishment of higher education. The applicant must have completed a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer work with Prairie Grit.
MAGIC CITY LIONS SCHOLARSHIPS | The Magic City Lions Club Scholarship Fund was established by the Magic City Lions Club in 2024. The scholarship fund provides scholarships to area youth through a permanent endowment fund held at the Minot Area Community Foundation. The Magic City Lions Club is dedicated to recognizing outstanding young individuals in our community and surrounding areas who actively engage in community service and school activities, striving to make a positive impact in the world around them. We seek applicants who exemplify character traits such as caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. To apply, candidates must demonstrate their commitment to volunteering and furthering their education through an essay. ALBERT & CLARA REIN CULINARY SCHOLARSHIP | The Albert & Clara Rein Culinary Scholarship Fund was established in 2015 to support graduating seniors in Ward County who are pursuing a degree in Culinary Studies. The fund offers scholarships to recipient’s contingent upon adequate grade point averages (2.5 or better) and desirable declared majors (culinary studies), which will be verified through official transcripts. All scholarship recipients will receive funds after the successful completion of their first semester (trade schools) or first academic year (universities).
ANNA S. AND HAROLD A.C. BERGSTROM SCHOLARSHIPS | Each year, scholarships are awarded from the Bergstrom Scholarship Fund to first-year students enrolled in a post-secondary educational facility. The Bergstrom Scholarship Fund offers scholarships to recipients contingent upon adequate grade point averages (2.5 or better) and desirable declared majors (agriculture and the trades), which will be verified through official transcripts. All scholarship recipients will receive funds after the successful completion of their first semester (trade schools) or first academic year (universities). Since inception, this fund has awarded $206,000 in scholarships.
NORTH DAKOTA STATE FAIR | CHEVRON SCHOLARSHIPS | Chevron, through the North Dakota State Fair, in conjunction with Minot Area Community Foundation, offers scholarships for North Dakota high school seniors engaged in 4-H or FFA. Three scholarships of $10,000 each and five scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to support students pursuing higher education or vocational training. While we’re looking to support careers in the oil and gas industry, we equally value roles that contribute broadly to community well-being. This includes, but is not limited to, fields like agriculture sciences, engineering, accounting, healthcare, education, and more. We encourage applicants with a wide range of interests and goals to apply, showcasing how your education and career path will contribute to a vibrant, sustainable community.
JAMES LOWE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP | The James Lowe Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor James’s legacy by supporting LGBTQIA+ students with demonstrated financial need. By reducing financial barriers, it empowers recipients to pursue their education and build the future they envision. The Scholarship is open to students who identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must live in one of the following North Dakota counties: Divide, Williams, McKenzie, Burke, Mountrail, McLean, Ward, Bottineau, McHenry Counties, or the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. Applicants must be actively enrolled (or accepted for enrollment) in a post-secondary program, including but not limited to colleges and universities, trade and apprenticeship programs.
PATHWAYS LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP | The Pathways Legacy Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors from Minot or the surrounding area as they pursue post-secondary education or training. Supported by legacy community volunteers and educators whose dedication created lasting scholarship opportunities for local students, this scholarship recognizes individuals who demonstrate responsibility, commitment, and intention in pursuing their next steps after high school. This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Minot or the surrounding area and plan to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution, vocational, or training program for the 2026-2027 academic year.
TERRY BOE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP | The Terry Boe Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Terry Boe, a Minot native who dedicated his career to the skilled trades. Terry’s family created this scholarship to recognize and support students who plan to pursue careers in the trades, reflecting the values and profession that meant so much to him. Eligible applicants should plan to study at a trade school for the 2026-2027 academic year. Applicants must be a senior in high school or a graduate of one of the following schools located in Minot, ND: Bishop Ryan Catholic School, Minot High School, Minot North High School, Nedrose High School, Our Redeemer's Christian School or South Prairie High School.
NORTH DAKOTA STATE FAIR | GRADUATING CLASS SCHOLARSHIPS | The North Dakota State Fair, in conjunction with Minot Area Community Foundation, is proud offer "Graduating Class" scholarships. High school seniors who have actively participated in exhibiting or competing in 4-H or FFA at the North Dakota State Fair for a minimum of three years are invited to apply. All qualified applicants will be recognized as the “North Dakota State Fair Graduating Class of 2025” during a presentation at the North Dakota State Fair. Six graduates will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship through a random drawing. Attendance is required to be eligible.
