March at The Foundation
Spring is almost here and The Minot Area Community Foundation has been busy! Check out some of our happenings below!

Membership Social

We held our First Annual Membership Social in the Community Room located inside the new Pepsi Rink at The Maysa. It was a great success and we thank all of you who were able to attend. The room looks great and we encourage all of you to get out and see the new facility if you haven't had the chance to yet! If you are interesed in supporting The Foundation by becoming a member, give us a call (852.0646) or visit our giving page here: http://centerforcommunitygiving.com/give

YWCA Grant

On March 14th we presented The YWCA a check for $60,000 from our Arnold I. Besserud Fund for the support of their future growth in our community. The Besserud Fund supplies humanitarian grants within Minot and the surrounding area to support organizations that serve underserved populations. The YWCA is Minot’s only women and children’s homeless shelter and strive to provide the best opportunities for each client they serve to succeed and become self-sufficient while giving them a hand up verses a hand out. Organizations like the YWCA are incredibly vital to our community.

Donation Station at Gymagic

The Donation Station is getting great use this month while being parked out of the snow and wind inside Gymagic’s gym on the ND state fairgrounds. The Donation Station is a mobile trailer for giving back that was launched by our organization this last fall. The purpose of the trailer is to promote giving back in a non-traditional way. If your organization is currently planning any upcoming fundraisers, you are encouraged to contact us to get your event on our calendar!

Gymagic is hosting a food drive all month to benefit The Lord’s Cupboard, a local food pantry. Gymnasts and their families are encouraged to bring their unexpired goods, non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, toiletries and paper products with them to practice through the end of March. Gymagic is thankful for the continued support the community has shown through fundraising. This time they want to give back to those in need, right here in our community. If you are interested in contributing to the Gymagic Food Drive, please bring your items to the gym at 600 21st Street SE by April 1st. You can also contact the gym for their hours and additional information at 852-4585.
