Fall 2016 Updates
Happy Thankgiving! We hope you are ready to take in all of the Holiday festivities with friends and family! We have been keeping very busy around the Foundation and have several things to give you an update on.
Donation Station
Just last week we launched our latest signature project, The Donation Station, a mobile trailer that promots giving back in a non-traditional way.
The trailer acts as a collection point and also method of delivery for donated items such as food, clothing and toys. The trailer can be used by Minot area organizations holding events that will ultimately benefit people or organizations in need. The Donation Station was funded by our Arnold I. Besserud Fund. Other importatnt partners include Odney, Minot Trailer Sales, Sign D'Zyn of Minot, American Truck & Trailer, McGee, Hankla & Backes P.C. and Shocks Safe & Lock. Please contact us at The Foundation for more information on how to put The Donation Station to use! 701.852.0646
MAYSA Arena
The third sheet of ice at the MAYSA is complete! A grand opening celebration will be held the weekend of December 9th & 10th. Come out and check out the Minot Area Community Foundation Community Room!
Giving Circle Updates
Both Give360 and Power of the Purse held their Fall Grants meetings and recently presented checks to all of the organizations that received funding.
Give360 granted $4,000 to the Dakota Boys & Girls Ranch for purchase of supplies for their Green House Projects and $10,000 to The Children's Museum of Minot to go towards the Strategic Planning of a full scale museum.
Power of the Purse granted $5,000 to the Stop Before You Send Campaign to go towards speaker fees and $10,800 to The United Way's Backpack Buddies program.
Congrats to all of these organizations on making a greater impact on our community!
